Fishing Freshwater

Fishing freshwater game fish when going after one of these you may catch others fishing freshwater game fish. Experienced fishermen agree that 80%of the fish lost is from human error the other 20% is from tackle failure like a stuck on a stump or a log or some boater crossing your line grrr still fishing freshwater is a lot of fun. One can always talk about the big one that got away lol.

When fishing freshwater or even salt water its important to first set the hook when a fish hits it doesn’t matter what you bait is be sure set the hook or you risk loosing your fish if the line goes slack. Another thing do not try and force the fish in that’s a good way to loose it to.

When fishing freshwater play the fish by pumping your rod, point it at your fish then while lifting your tip up pull it back reeling in then point reeling in don’t give it any slack continue doing this till your fish is close enough to grab or net and or gaff.

Another thing before you start fishing check your drag make sure its not set to tight or to loose simply grab line about a foot beyond reel and pull slow if it wont come out or it comes but is hard to pull out any its to tight loosen it about a half turn and repeat. You can always tighten it while playing a fish but if your drag is set to tight ping! Your line just broke.

Fishing freshwater with surface lures and plugs is a lot of fun as any fisherman will tell you there is nothing like having a game fish hit your offering what’s more is most fish that hit a surface lure or plug are likely to give the lucky angler an awesome battle on the surface just remember don’t give the rascal any slack or you may loose it.

Fishing freshwater swimming lures offer another great way of catching much type of fish in freshwater there are floaters-shallow divers 1 to 3 feet and there are sinkers for deep divers, you need to stop and go slow and fast just try different speeds to see what will work. If you’re fishing a river use the current by swimming your lure against it. These are only a few of the ways you can fish in freshwater there are many more.
